Supporting local has always been important to me. So, when COVID halted the ability to give local businesses the support they needed, my focus shifted to help them out. I started illustrating places I enjoyed going to, wrote a bit of why I like them, and hoped that it would spark some sort of food inspiration for those following my account. While all independent businesses were suffering, I specifically wanted to bring attention to the Independent Restaurant Coalition (@indprestaurants ) and their mission to save local restaurants and the more than 11 million staff they employ (up and down the supply chain) by getting Congress to pass the RESTAURANTS Act. I was lucky enough to be featured by the Independent Restaurant Coalition and local Houston press.
